Hi, I'm Leigh Ann

The gal behind the camera at Rein & Rye Photography! Go ahead and consider me your newest gal pal & hype girl! I'm new to this whole blogging thing - but not in oversharing. SOO let's dive in... shall we?

When I'm not behind the camera or computer, I'm dancing in the kitchen with a baby on my hip or chasing my toddler outside in the sunshine. I love cleaning and organizing, although my home stays in a forever state of disaster - there's something so soothing about vacuuming dog hair and spilled cheerios. My toxic trait is falling in love with a song and playing it 100 times on repeat - right now it's "Background Music" by Maren Morris.

I put my heart into everything I do, so much so my husband bought me a coffee mug that says "if it's not a hell yes, it's a no" and it's been my motto ever since. I firmly believe you can't be everything to everyone, but you can be the best version of you and live passionately for the things that excite you.

Let me be honest - photography hasn't always been my thing, but looking back it makes total sense now. In high school, I usually had a disposable camera with me. I liked photography - I liked capturing candid moments. Never did I ever think I would own my own business. Rein and Rye kind of happened. It wasn't planned or fully thought out. After Josh and I got married in 2016 we purchased a camera so we would have our memories captured in something more than a cell phone image. I took our Canon on trail rides, visits to the dog park, family gatherings and softball tournaments.

In August 2017, we took an anniversary trip to Kentucky and spent the weekend soaking in things we loved - horses and bourbon - of course I brought our camera to document our adventures to places like Keeneland, Claiborne Farms, and Woodford Reserve! On our trip home I expressed the idea of creating an instagram page so I could share my images as a creative outlet - it was then that Rein & Rye was born named after our first wedding anniversary trip.

I thought maybe one day I would lean into my equestrian roots and photograph equine portraits, but didn't think much more of it. God had bigger and better plans for me. When we moved into a small neighborhood community, a few neighbors asked me to photograph their families. I had no clue what was I was doing - I had never like actually photographed people, but I LOVED IT! So when I say Rein & Rye just kind of happened - it's true. Since then, I have photographed nearly 300 families - crazy right?! If you would have told younger me I would be a photographer (and business owner) I would have laughed in your face and said - no damn way!! I am humbled where my camera has led me, the people I have met and the amazing life celebrations I have captured.

I believe everything happens for a reason and timing is everything. Becoming a mama has changed me entirely and made me a better photographer. I know how much it means to photograph each chapter of your life and finding a photographer you entrust to capture the memories you are creating. I am more than just your photographer - I want you to know I am here for every high and low moment with you. I know the best of plans get ruined or your story unfolds differently than you intended, but it's beautifully YOURS. So if you consider me your family photographer - THANK YOU - you have no idea how much your support and trust means to me. I am grateful to be yours! And if you're considering me for your next family session - THANK YOU - I am honored and hope I get to see you real soon! Until next week - cheers, friends!
