I am the mom that keeps every single piece of our kids artwork. As I type this, I am looking at the basket across the room from me exploding with doodles and painted paper plates. I treasure their crafty computer paper masterpieces. So when I stumbled upon Kelly's insanely gorgeous work, I'm sure you can imagine I was basically in tears over these canvases covered tiny handprints.

When I learned Kelly was opening a few spots in April at her studio for her Kid Art Commissions, you would have thought Josh and I were preparing to buy Taylor Swift tickets - totally not joking. We are visual learners, so we taped out every size she offered in canvas to determine what would fit our space best and knowing there are 3 kids to 1 canvas...we ultimately went with a size of go big or stay home.

If you're wondering, yep, the rectangle is still there :)

Kelly's studio was bright and welcoming, full sunshine and soft music. We chit chatted colors and once we confirmed the palette, the real fun begun! Josh and I sat back and watched - there was something so peaceful watching the girls get messy. They were in their element. They doodled and they painted. They played and then painted some more, all over themselves and their clothes (pro tip: take your kids in clothes they can paint in and then wear as a fun outfit later :)). Kelly loved on our girls and they loved her - time flew by with all the fun we were having!

Thank you, Kelly, for your kindness, hospitality and sharing your gifts with our family!

Josh and I haven't stopped talking about that afternoon, I'm thankful I took my camera to document the little bit of time we shared in Kelly's studio. We can't wait to see the final piece once Kelly finishes with it - gold flakes magic and all. I'll be sure to share a before and after of our wall once it comes home.

Enough of me talking... scroll to see how much fun we had! Cheers, friends!
